The Mughal emperor, Akbar had no heir till the age of 26, so he went to Sikri and visited Sheikh Salim Chishti, whose blessings gave him three children. As the palaces in Sikri are a remainder of the Mughal extravagance, the complex was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Despite Diwan-I-Khas, Panch Mahal and Buland Darwaza being some of the main attractions, the Tomb of Salim Chisti is still visited by hundreds of pilgrims every day.
